Description of Project :

Study excessive ground settlement and lateral movement of quay wall at Unity Container Terminal area in Colombo harbour, Sri Lanka Ports Authority.
The container terminal areas were designed and constructed buy Japanese companies in year 2000. After few years it was observed by that excessive ground settlement and lateral movements of quay wall structure. Sri Lanka Ports Authority requested CECB to study the problem and appropriate solution to rectify the solution

Detailed investigations were carried out including design calculations to check structural adequacy of the quay wall structures. Recommendations were given to rectify the same.
