Description of Project :

The Project entails the extension of the existing railway track from Matara to Beliatta. The construction includes;

• Via ducts across the Nilwala River Flood Plains and Wehella Flood plains,
• A number of level crossings, overpasses, underpasses and two cut and cover tunnels. The lengths of these tunnels are 606 m (Nakuttiya Tunnel) and 238 m (Bambarenda Tunnel).

 

Description of Services Provided:

• Review of detail engineering designs required for construction.
• Checking contractor’s shop drawings and method statements.
• Construction supervision and progress monitoring.
• Contract administration.
• Ensuring QA/QC procedures are being implemented.
• Conducting progress meetings.
• Implementing the Health, Safety & Environmental Management Plan.
